8" Native Brookie

I caught this beautiful Brook trout on a high elevation 5000+ft stream just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville. Yellowstone Prong is a unique western-like stream where you hop from boulder to boulder targeting each pool created by the drastic elevation change. I caught this using the "bow and arrow" method of casting.

Crawdads

As a boy I spent summers with my cousins, knee deep in the cold Virginia creeks hunting our favorite little critters known as "Crawdads". Crawfish, fresh waters lobsters, mudbugs, crawdaddies- they go by many different names, but never cease to captivate a child's or young puppy's imagination. Here's one Storm and I found up on the Noontootla river while camping this weekend.
